About Suzy
Suzy DiIorio is a passionate, dynamic, strong Speech-Language Pathologist who makes that instant connection with her clients and empowers families resulting in effectively improve speech/language and communication skills. Suzy believes all children should be given the chance to be articulate, to be able to communicate and to understand and use language to their highest potential.
Suzy has over 20 years of extensive training and experience treating apraxia, articulation, language, processing, communication and social disorders. With over 24 years of experience working with children with autism, Suzy uses an eclectic approach and has been highly successful improving speech/language, communication and social skills. Suzy has had extensive training in ABA and Verbal Behavior, Managing Disruptive Behaviors, Floor time (Greespan), Son Rise, The Miller Method, Incidental teaching, Augmentative Communication training, Picture Schedules and Social Stories.
Suzy received her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from West Virginia University and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Seton Hall University. Suzy has attended numerous continuing education courses including Sarah-Rosenfeld Johnson (Oral-Motor), Pamela Marshella (Apraxia), Nancy Kaufman (Apraxia), Barry Prizant (Autism-Communication Temptations), Lori Frost (PECS), Carol Gray (Social Stories), Hanen Center Program, P.R.O.M.P.T. (Prompts for Oral Muscular Phonetic targets), Temple Grandin (Autism-Social skills), Jed Baker (Autism-Social Skills) McCloskey (Executive Functioning).
